Below there is a hyperlink with step-by-step instructions to apply. Please be sure to follow these instructions carefully in order to avoid application errors. It is important to note that if you have applied to a RentCafe property before, you will need to use a different email for yourself and your guarantor to avoid technology errors.

Once you have submitted an application, our team will send your information to University of Vermont Residential Life to ensure you have met your eligibility requirements to be placed with us. Once our team receives an update from UVM Residential Life, pending availability and pending you have met the eligibility requirements to be placed with us for the 2024-2025 academic year, we will generate a lease for you and your guarantor. If you receive a lease we will also send you an email that will have details related to when the lease is due, how to submit your security deposit, and when the deposit is due.

We typically begin our follow up to the majority of applications during the November academic break. Please note that our team receives a large volume of applications for each application group. We appreciate your patience as we process applications, and encourage you to monitor your email daily for updates.

Please review all instructions carefully. Please note that we strongly encourage you to not apply if you are considering studying abroad or cannot stay for the full duration of the 11.5 month annual lease contract. If you have any questions, please reach out to studentleasing@redstonevt.com prior to submitting an application. Please note that our standard response time of 2 business days is extended during application periods.

Utilities

Redstone Lofts: The only utility residents are responsible for setting up is electricity. Only one person in each unit needs to set this up, and the cost is split amongst all residents in the apartment. Residents have shared that electric is around 25-45 dollars on average per month, per person. Heat is not included at the Lofts. Each unit has its own heat pump and the heat pumps that bring heat or AC into the units utilize electricity. Those are energy efficient systems and the building is LEED certified. Electric accounts should be set up only after you have received your roommate introduction email in the first week of May 2024; setup can be completed by contacting Burlington Electric directly.

Roommate Information

If you are applying for a unit either alone or with friends and won’t be filling the unit (for example, two folks applying to live in a three bedroom, or an individual applying to live in a four bedroom) you will have the option to go through our roommate preference selection process in the Spring. We typically run this process from February to April. You will have the option to see other folks who take part in this optional process who have signed a lease for the same room type and lease term.

It is important to note that Redstone reserves all rights for final room and roommate placements, though we are able to honor most matches made in this process. Please be advised, there are times based on how people have renewed or come in with preferred roommates that we cannot offer this service to all applicants. In this instance, we will provide you with an earlier roommate introduction. Final room and roommate assignments are released in the first week of May.
